WASTING MONEY

I had a good laugh when I read WiseBread’s post on 47 Ways to Waste Money.  A lot of people will probably have the same reaction that I did, however this is quite a serious matter especially if your finances are in a mess.  I can honestly say that I have been guilty of some of those money wasting steps. For instance number 21 and 39 are two of the one that really bit me hard way back when. Now I have learnt from that and moved to the point where I am credit card-less and loving it.

It is especially sad when people spend a lot of their hard earned cash looking for the dream in number 42. I recently read of a $106 million dollar jackpot that a lot of people were trying to win…spending a lot of money on tickets.  Sadly no one won. Well that’s not quite true. The big winner was the organisation behind the lottery. Everybody else lost!

As for number 41, I don’t quite agree with it since there are time for negotiation and there are times when it is uncalled for. Now the farmer making a dollar would be quite willing to negotiate the price of a pound of apples. And you can get great deals on buying new and used cars if you excel in the art of negotiation. However when you know that the cost of the item, at some of the mom and pop shops, is more than a bargain then  to me it is just plain mean to try to haggle on the price.

So for all of you who are looking to change your spending habits, go on over and have a read of the post on 47 Ways to Waste Money. Hopefully you will take a look at what you are doing and make a change to cut the waste.
