WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
On Oprah’s site Jean Chatzky’s new book “The Difference” is being promoted. In her book, Jean states that there are 6 traits that make the difference between a person who is wealthy and one who isn’t. These are:
- happiness and optimism
- resilience
- connectedness
- passion
- intuition
- habitual saving
- investment
- gratitude
These are characteristics that we all have in some degree or the other and may have applied to our personal finances however not all at once. For example some people make a habit of saving however it may not be money – it may be clothes, books, pictures all other sorts of things. Some people make investments in their social lives by meeting with friends regularly, in their education but may not consider investing in their financial future. And there are lots of examples for each of these characteristics.
So could these traits be the answer to solving your financial crisis.
Yes and no.
I agree that you need to have certain characteristics in order to achieve success in any arena of life including your personal finances, however there should be more. And that more starts with YOU.
Knowing who you are. Your strengths and weaknesses. Your limitations. Being aware of all these things in relation to those characteristics. Strengthening those that you can, leveraging others and reducing the impact of those that may drag you into the pits.
Anything that you do should first start with you!
