Shopping for the basics is something that we have to do every week or month depending on the perishable factor. Let’s face facts, we have to eat.

Have you notice though that your even if you make that list and stick to what you really need that it is hard to get it all? Just recently my mother called and we got around to talking about the cost of food items. Milk, flour, bread and sugar have all increased in price. And don’t forget the fresh vegetables! Soon we may not be able to even eat as healthy as we should and want to.

What can we do? Everyday we hear about the woes of the economy, the unemployment rate is increasing and all around people are struggling to make ends meet. You may be in a better position than some. You may have even prepared by having a bit of saving stashed away for emergencies.

But what else can you do?

The answer lies in being wise when spending.

Consider the grocery items that you buy. Can you buy in bulk? What things have a long shelf life? Can vegetables be frozen and used in soups etc? How can you be creative in planning meals for less money?

There are many things that you can do to save and make you money stretch as far as possible. You need not limit yourself, just practice wise ways to wealth.
